Originally published in 1990, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! remains one of Dr. Seuss’s most iconic and widely beloved books, yet it’s never been adapted for the screen. The book follows an unnamed protagonist, who is supposed to represent the reader, as they navigate life's journey, encountering both successes and challenges. The story emphasizes personal growth, resilience and the importance of embracing life's adventures, including both triumphs and setbacks. It concludes with an open ending, encouraging readers to forge their own path.
Warner Bros., in partnership with J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, will be developing the new animated film version of the classic story. Music will be written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind many popular soundtracks and musicals such as Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, The Greatest Showman and A Christmas Story: The Musical.
Oh, the Places You Go! is scheduled for release on IMAX on March 17, 2028.
