Starbucks Secret Menu Items Are No Longer a Secret

Starbucks is launching an all-new feature in its app that'll make ordering that off-menu or "secret" drink all the more easier (for customers, anyway).

The international coffee chain revealed on Monday that it's fully leaning into its fan-created viral customizations, a complete 180 from past comments the company made about downsizing its menu, with a designated new space in the Starbucks app.

    According to an official statement, Starbucks customers looking to order one of the many popular beverages that it doesn't advertise can now do so by browsing through the "offers" tab, which will regularly feature new beverage customizations (AKA secret menu drinks) for consumers to try on a rotating basis.

    Starbucks' Secret Menu launches in the app beginning Monday, July 14.

    To celebrate the unofficial becoming official, the coffee giant is launching four all-new customized drink options.

    Cookies on Top: For cookies and cream lovers, order a Cold Brew with two pumps of vanilla syrup, Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam and cookie crumble topping.

    Dragonfruit Glow-Up: a Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher by adding peach juice blend, then have it blended and topped with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam.

    Lemon, Tea & Pearls: Black tea and lemonade make a perfect pair – add an extra pop of flavor with raspberry-flavored popping pearls to take it to the next level.

    Just Add White Mocha: Give a new spin to the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso by adding two pumps of White Chocolate Mocha Sauce and topping it with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam on top.

    To keep the fun going, Starbucks is opening up the menu to customers and employees alike. Beginning today, July 14, through July 20, anyone who thinks they've created the top concoction can submit it to the Secret Menu Contest for a chance to win up to $30,000.

    Here's how it works: Entries will then be narrowed down to four customized beverages, with each finalist’s creation featured on the secret menu from August 18-25 and receiving a $5,000 prize. From August 18–20, fans can vote for their favorite on @Starbucks Instagram, and the grand prize winner will receive an additional $25,000 prize.
