Carlos Alcaraz could get the chance to show off his awkward dance moves again this year as he bids for a third straight Wimbledon title.
The 22-year-old is facing Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s showpiece event as he looks to cement his dominance at the All England Club.
The winner of Wimbledon will be invited to the Champions’ Dinner where the men’s and women’s champions will dance together.
Iga Swiatek stormed to the women’s title on Saturday with a bruising 6-0, 6-0 victory over American Amanda Anisimova.
Alcaraz is well versed in the Champions’ Dinner etiquette, but in 2024 his delight at a second Wimbledon crown soon turned into fright after being reminded he will have to take part in the traditional dance.
Former tennis star and BBC presenter Annabel Croft interviewed Alcaraz after his straight-sets victory, where she asked him about his dancing skills.
To which he squirmed by rubbing his face, before saying: “Let’s say, could be better I guess. Yeah, let’s see tonight, but I try to do my best.”
Footage then went viral of Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova on the dance floor, where they moved to Dua Lipa’s hit 2023 song ‘Dance the Night’.
At one point, Alcaraz – donning a stylish tuxedo – was seen giving the two-time Grand Slam champion a twirl towards the end of their routine.

Alcaraz goes into the final on a 24-match winning streak dating back to April, while he has not lost in 20 contests at Wimbledon.
Intriguingly, though, the last defeat he did suffer in SW19 was against Sinner back in 2022.
Alcaraz has been impressed by what he has seen from his rival this fortnight, saying: “I just see Jannik playing great tennis on grass. The movement on grass is the hardest thing to get and the most important thing, at least for me.

Only Bjorn Borg has won the French Open and Wimbledon double in successive years in the open era, and Alcaraz cannot help but be buoyed by his Paris exploits.
“I still think about that moment, sometimes,” he said. “It was the best match that I have ever played so far.
“I’m not surprised he pushed me to the limit. I expect that on Sunday. I’m just excited about it. I hope not to be five hours and a half on court again. If I have to, I will. But I think it’s going to be great.”
