Wingstop is showing up in a big way for victims of recent natural disasters across Texas.
The Dallas-based brand announced on Sunday a two-part initiative benefiting the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, with the potential to raise up to $1 million.
Throughout July, customers ordering through Wingstop.com or the Wingstop app will have the option to round up their purchase total at checkout, with 100% of those donations going directly to the Red Cross.
In addition to supporting ongoing recovery efforts in Texas, the donations will aid national disaster response efforts across the U.S.
On July 15, Wingstop will launch Family Flavor Day, a statewide fundraising effort where 15% of all sales from Texas-based Wingstop restaurants will be donated to the American Red Cross. The company has pledged to match all contributions made through both the Round-Up campaign and Family Flavor Day dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.
"We're heartbroken by the devastation caused by natural disasters sweeping Texas, and we remain grateful for the heroism of first responders in impacted areas," Wingstop's President & CEO, Michael Skipworth said in a press release. "Texas is our home, and supporting our people and the communities we serve is the Wingstop Way. We're proud to stand alongside our guests with this effort."
Beyond fundraising, Wingstop has also committed to providing hot meals to local organizations and first responders leading relief operations on the ground.
With boots on the ground and heart in the community, Wingstop is turning compassion into action when Texans need it most.
