ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Flower City Union took down Ambassadors FC, 3-0, to capture the 2025 Great Lakes Conference Championship.
Dylan Rice scored twice, Myles Palmer scored one goal, and Rodrigo Almeida notched a trio of assists as Flower City Union will now play in the quarterfinals of the National Premier Soccer League.
Goalie Christian Burkhart – along with the help of the defense – made it a clean sheet in the win.
“It took sacrifice. Coach said that from the start,” said Rice. “We knew it was gonna be hot out there.”
But even on a day that saw temperatures over 90 degrees, it didn’t faze this team. And after the win, a water bath was a good reward for head coach Jordan Sullivan.
“Tradition. We always gotta get the coach back at some point,” said Almeida. “The best time to do so is when we win.”
Next up, Flower City Union will play on Wednesday, in the East Region semifinals.
