GENESEO, N.Y. – The Geneseo Airshow kicked off on Saturday, bringing people out to the National Warplane Museum to see all kinds of planes up close and in action. The show also commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day.
“At a lot of airshows around the country, you only get to get so close to the aircraft. The pilots are usually unavailable,” said AJ Bartucca, public relations director for the Geneseo Airshow. “At this show, you can get very close, up to like 20 to 30 feet to these planes starting up. We have all of these planes accessible on the flightline for people to go up to when they’re not operating.”
In addition to the close-up views, guests also get the chance to meet the pilots. The Geneseo Airshow continues on Sunday with flying scheduled from 9:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. You can get tickets here and see other events around the area this weekend here.
