A 42-year-old man was arrested at a northern Indiana rest stop after allegedly driving from multiple states away and kidnapping a Michigan teenager, police said.

Chayleang Tiang, 42, of Paris, Kentucky, was arrested on a warrant for kidnapping, taken to the Steuben County Jail and set to be extradited to Michigan. At around 1 a.m. on Saturday, dispatchers in DeKalb County, Indiana, were informed about a Kentucky man who had picked up a 14-year-old from Ionia, Michigan.

    Dispatchers relayed information about the suspect’s vehicle to Indiana state troopers, who located the vehicle at a rest stop along Interstate 69 in nearby Steuben County. Troopers were able to identify both the victim and suspect, state police said.

    An investigation revealed Tiang had driven from Kentucky to meet the teenager, according to authorities. The teen was later reunited with their guardians.
