Rehab Addict returned to HGTV in June after a three-year hiatus, and fans were excited to see it back. Unfortunately, after just two episodes, the show has been shelved and won't be back until the fall.
That's a huge disappointment for fans, who were looking forward to the four episodes promised by the network. Ratings were clearly not the underlying issue, because the show's star, Nicole Curtis, mentioned how thankful she was for the fan excitement after her lengthy break.

Curtis posted on Instagram after news that Rehab Addict wouldn't return until the fall, despite the third episode being scheduled to air on July 8. In part, she wrote, "First, THANK YOU for making Rehab Addict a number one rated show, again. You came out and shocked the heck out of all of us with the numbers ❤️❤️ if you missed the first two, watch them now streaming or don’t worry, I’m bringing those back along with the other new ones."
Then, the HGTV star explained the reason for the rescheduling, telling fans, "I made the executive decision to shelf the rest of our new shows until Fall. I appreciate your support and understanding for the late notice. It’s just a lot of hours (my hours) to get a show on air and we (my family +me) thought -why are we giving up Summer when we have the ability to do this in the Fall ?"

Most of Curtis's fans seemed to understand and even wished her a great summer. Others were skeptical of this explanation. After all, they were promised four episodes. Were they not completed before Season 9 premiered?
One fan asked about just that, writing, "If the episodes are already delivered to HGTV, what more do you have to do? This is weird to pull the season after two episodes."
Curtis responded, "oh, we don’t deliver like that ❤️ I make these things fresh out if the oven and it is a lot to promote each week."
Another fan asked something similar, this time pointing out that we saw pieces of the other two episodes in the promos for the season. They wrote, "I'm all for her taking time off. However, this was only 4 episodes to begin with. They are edited and even showed parts in the previews. Why can't she still air the other two?"
Again, Curtis responded, "hi! You know I see these ? I have 5000 hours of footage - I can show you previews for the next 10 years. I edit as I go and just didn’t have the bandwidth right now and being 48 vs 28 m, I’m wise enough to say —it can wait ❤️"

A third commenter didn't question the decision, but shared, "Love the show but must say I’m disappointed with the postponement."
Yet another commenter echoed that sentiment when they said, "I’m so disappointed!!! You were my Tuesday night show. ?I’ll be there in the fall."
