ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re in for a very summery weekend, with heat, humidity and some storms. Starting off with the storm threat: A Yellow Alert is up for Sunday for the potential for strong storms. The timing would be during the afternoon, and the greatest risk of strong storms appears to be in the Finger Lakes region. Gusty winds and heavy rain are possible in any of the stronger storms that do form. Flash flooding is possible, but the risk looks low, as most of the storms are expected to move along. Saturday looks like it’ll be a pretty nice day, with highs in the lower 90s, dew points in the low 70s and dry weather outside of an isolated afternoon shower or thundershower. Sunday will be the wetter weekend day, though it looks like we should start off with dry, warm and humid weather in the morning.
Once our cold front moves through Sunday night, it’ll be turning less humid, and more comfortable on Monday. We’ll see a clearing sky and a return to dry weather. We should remain dry on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we’ll be cranking up the heat again, with highs expected near 90 again on Wednesday.
