Cameron Mathison is taking all the Drew hatred in stride. Drew is one of the most hated characters on the hit ABC soap.
The actor has endured a slew of backlash, as some fans can’t separate him from Drew. During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show,Mathison revealed he got an apple thrown at him while at the grocery store because of one General Hospitalfan’s dislike of Drew.

Taking to Instagram, Mathison poked fun at all the Drew hatred in a funny video. He joked that he was back in the supermarket getting hit because of Drew. Then he panned to an employee laughing but also hitting him with a stack of papers.
“Apparently playing Drew Cain means I can’t even buy a protein shake in peace ? Got whacked with a stack of papers at the store the other day. I’ve had Apples thrown at me, cars honking and drivers screaming, near sidewalk collisions… all in a day’s work. No hard feelings though—I get it? #dramacain #publicenemydrew #generalhavoc #ilovemyjob,” he captioned the Instagram share.
Days of Our Lives star Greg Rikaart and actress Candace Cameron Bure popped up in the comments section to show support for Mathison. They weren’t alone either—fans also chimed in on the video to reveal that they don’t like Drew, but adore the man who plays him.

“We love you Cameron! Drew not so much?,” wrote a fan. One fan stated, “Lmao so funny it’s true don’t like Drew but love you.”
Mathison killing it at his job was mentioned more than once. “Goes to show how great you are at your job. Whether it's playing a good guy or a bad guy you are a wonderful actor,” said one fan.
