John Goodman made a bold confession about his Roseanne co-star, Roseanne Barr, during a recent interview.
In a July 11 article from The Hollywood Reporter, the sitcom icon, 73, opened up about his relationship with Barr, 72, after she abruptly exited the show's reboot The Conners in 2018.

During his sit-down with THR, Goodman revealed he hadn't spoken to Barry "for about seven or eight years"—roughly the same amount of time since Barr's controversial tweets got her booted from the show.
"I’d rather doubt if she wants to talk to me," the actor bluntly admitted.
"We hit it off from jump street. She made me laugh, and I made her laugh, and wow, it was so much fun," Goodman recalled of Roseanne's early days. "We'd get so many viewers for the show back then—20, 30 million people. Things are so different now, but it was a special time."
In April Barr's son and rep, Jake Pentland, issued a statement to TMZ about The Conners ending.

Pentland told the outlet that Barr and their family were "still glad" the cast "got seven solid seasons of work out of the show she built."
Additionally, he shared they "didn’t watch a single second" of the reboot after Barr was forced out and "didn’t even know it just wrapped."
Barr starred in Roseanne from 1988 to 1997. In 2018, she joined The Conners but was ultimately written off following racially-charged tweets. The Conners ran for seven seasons, with the finale airing in April 2025.
