ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Local businesses are having some fun after people reported seeing a big cat roaming the streets of Rochester on Wednesday night.
The Department of Environmental Conservation is still investigating the sightings and says no reports of a cougar have been confirmed so far. The DEC is reminding anyone who may come across the animal to keep their distance, slowly back away, and call them at 1-844-332-3267.
The reported big cat quickly turned into all kinds of social media parodies. The House of Guitars posted, “anyone missing their pet cat?”
Get Caked Bakery said the cat stopped by the shop to pick up some desserts:
Murph’s Irondequoit Pub posted that it “looks like we have an intruder while we’re on vacation.”
Salinger’s on East Avenue is also getting in on the fun with a special drink called the “Rochester mountain lion”. For the next week, patrons can get a shot of Beam paired with an ice-cold Genny Light for $5.50.
