ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Looking for a place to enjoy the summer weather on Friday? There’s so much happening around the Rochester area, including the kickoff of Bands of the Bricks, a free outdoor performance from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and a celebration of “Seinfeld” at Innovative Field. Kickoff of Bands on the Bricks
The Rochester Public Market will once again be full of live music from national and local bands. Bands on the Bricks kicks off on Friday with Latin Night.
La Nueva Secuencia, Banda Light, and Tributo a los 90 will take the stage. The free concert series takes place every Friday through Aug. 15. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the music runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Food and drinks vendors will be there.
The concert series has been going on for over 25 years. Here’s the rest of this season’s lineup:

The Shakespeare in the Park also kicks off on Friday, part of the centennial season of Rochester Community Players. The group will perform Shakesphere’s timeless comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Highland Park Bowl.
Performances will take place every night through July 26, except for Mondays and Tuesdays. All shows begin at 8 p.m. ASL-interpreted performances will take place on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13. You can learn more here. RPO Under the Stars
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is set to play iconic scores from movies and musicals on Friday night during a free, outdoor show at Parcel 5.
The music will start at 6:30 p.m. with a performance from the Flower City Pride Band. Then, the RPO will take the stage at 8 p.m. The music will include scores from “The Sound of Music”, “Lincoln: With Malice Toward None”, “E.T.”, and “Across the Stars”. There will also be sidewalk astronomy set up in partnership with RMSC. The RPO is partnering with Downtown Definitely to organize the show.
Food Truck Fridays continues
The inaugural Food Truck Fridays series continues on Friday. It’s taking place at Washington Square Park on Court Street and South Clinton Avenue. There will be local food trucks, lawn games, and live music from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Fans of the hit comedy “Seinfeld” will love the theme of Friday night’s Red Wings game. Innovative Field is hosting its first-ever Seinfeld Night as part of the Red Wings’ homestand against the Worcester Red Sox.
Patrick Warburton, who plays Elaine’s on-again-off-again boyfriend “Puddy”, will hold a meet-and-greet session. Fans can get his autograph or take a selfie for $20. It’s $35 to get both.
