The Buffalo Bills have been left out in the cold for too long.
Josh Allen is a force of nature at quarterback but Patrick Mahomes has proved to be an immovable object in the postseason.
The Bills’ Super Bowl hopes have been dashed four times by the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, most recently in the 2024 season.
Allen is one of the most gifted players in the league but the $330 million quarterback has never made it to the biggest game.
The Bills made four consecutive Super Bowls in the early 1990s but lost on every occasion — the Vince Lombardi Trophy has never made it to Buffalo, with fans forced to watch the New England Patriots win six.
But there is hope that an incredible design feature in the $2.2 billion New Highmark Stadium can finally end the jinx.
New drone footage of the construction work shows the shell of the arena in Orchard Park, New York, almost finished.
Built across the road from the Bills’ current home, which was opened in 1973 to make it the fourth-oldest NFL stadium, it is set to be completed in time for the 2026 season.
A canopy goes around the top of the roof to protect around 50 percent of the 62,000 fans from the elements.
But cold is also a problem for the players in brutal winters and the Bills have a potential solution.
Beneath the canopy, the outside of the new stadium will be lined with perforated steel panels to slow down the wind and direct it over the stadium.
Architects believe that this will create an ‘air bubble’ to keep temperatures up.

Populous is the firm behind the project.
It built Gillette Stadium, M&T Bank Stadium, and NRG Stadium.
Legends — a company set up by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in partnership with the New York Yankees — will provide hospitality.
Allen needs all the help he can get and his supporting cast for a final season at Highmark is threadbare.
NFL analyst Bill Barnwell took a dim view of the Bills’ current playmakers, ranking the group 28th out of 32 teams in an article for ESPN.

Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?

Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?
“This probably feels low for one of the league’s best offenses, but star quarterback Josh Allen has been removed from the equation,” he wrote.
“While general manager Brandon Beane might disagree, this is likely the least imposing group of receivers in the NFL on paper.“
Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel reprise their roles from last season.
But Mack Hollins, who performed better than expected has joined the Patriots and been replaced by former Los Angeles Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer.
Palmer is set for a shock when winter hits after leaving sunny California and he may wish he waited a season for the new stadium and its warming measures.
But Allen has all the tools to end decades of misery and provide the perfect sendoff for Highmark.
