The ball slipped past, allowing England to steal two byes at Lord’s. Just after the dive, the Indian wicketkeeper was seen in considerable pain.

The injury forced him to leave the field for medical attention, and he didn’t return for the rest of the day, and Dhruv Jurel took over the wicketkeeping duty for India in the ongoing third Test against England. Later, it was confirmed that Pant had taken a hit on his left index finger.

Now, in a major setback to India, the BCCI has confirmed that Pant continues to recover from a blow to his left index finger, and the medical team is closely monitoring his condition and recovery. With Pant not fully fit, Dhruv Jurel will continue to take on wicketkeeping duties on Day 2 at Lord’s.
