India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has approached the Allahabad High Court after he was booked by the Ghaziabad police for “emotionally, mentally, and physically” exploiting a woman by promising to marry her.
Yash Dayal has moved the Allahabad High Court to challenge the FIR filed against him for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman. In his writ petition, Dayal has requested the court to cancel the FIR registered against him and also sought a stay of his arrest.
The woman had filed the complaint through the Chief Minister’s online portal (IGRS) last month. After her claims, Dayal was booked on July 6 at Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad district under Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including a false promise of marriage) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In his petition, the RCB fast bowler said that he never had a physical relationship with the woman. Dayal also claimed that his parents treated her like a daughter-in-law, but over time, the woman’s behavior changed, and he felt he couldn’t marry her.
Yash Dayal denies misleading the woman with a marriage promise
As reported by PTI, the writ petition by Yash Dayal stated, “… as per the FIR, it has been admitted by the informant that she was treated like a daughter-in-law by the parents of the petitioner, meaning thereby that the intention of the petitioner was never to cheat her…"
"However, it was the attitude of the victim that changed over the course of time, and the petitioner realized that he would not be able to marry her; as such, he decided to end the relationship.”
Furthermore, the RCB pacer made explosive claims in his petition to the Allahabad High Court, denying ever making any false promise of marriage. Yash claimed their relationship was mutual and later turned sour over time, not because of deceit, but due to the woman’s own behavior.

The petition stated, “It was a mutual friendship, which later on turned sour because of the victim herself.” The High Court is expected to hear the case soon. So far, his IPL team, RCB, and the BCCI have not commented on the matter.
Yash Dayal says the woman got close after IPL fame
In sharp contrast, the woman had earlier filed an FIR in Ghaziabad, alleging that Dayal took advantage of her emotionally and physically after misleading her with a fake marriage promise. The woman also said she went into depression and even attempted suicide.
But Dayal said that the woman got close to him after the Gujarat Titans picked him for ₹3.2 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction, and he gained fame. The writ petition added, “The victim saw this as an opportunity and started getting closer to the petitioner.”
The fast bowler also claimed that the woman was sending him photos of her suicide attempts frequently, which left him feeling scared and emotionally trapped. Dayal said he didn’t know how to handle the situation and denied any wrongdoing.
