Butterbean has suggested he wants to take on Jake Paul in a huge stadium fight in Japan.
Heavyweight icon Butterbean – real named Eric Esch – was a true icon during his heyday becoming one of the most popular heavyweights in recent memory.
The ‘King of the four Rounders’ has now lost 200lbs since retiring in 2013 after defeat to Kirk Lawton.
And he has regularly called for a huge showdown with YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.
When asked by talkSPORT.com about a potential fight, Esch suggested he wanted to fight in Japan with a suggested visit to Tokyo Dome on the cards.
He said: “I was in a wheelchair for three years, and Jake was talking smack about me.
“Once I started getting healthy again, I want to push myself for one more fight just to fight him.
“I’m in better shape than I was when I’m fighting and Jake better be ready for someone who is going to throw a lot of punches.
“It will sell out a stadium no doubt, we’d need to go to Japan where there are bigger stadiums.
“I think that’s something the people worldwide would want to see [Tokyo Dome], people know I wouldn’t take a dive at all.”
The Tokyo Dome is a purpose built stadium worth $269million.
It has held some famous boxing contests in it time, including Mike Tyson’s famous 1990 defeat to Buster Douglas.
GettyPaul is subject of intense interest from Butterbean but may not accept[/caption]Tyson was on an invincible undefeated streak, with a perfect record of 37-0 and with Douglas as a 42/1 underdog.
But incredibly it was Douglas who handed ‘Iron Mike’ his first victory, as he was beaten by a brutal stoppage.
Esch himself will likely be an overwhelming underdog if he fights Paul, given the influencer-boxer is the fresher fighter at the age of 28.
The American has been inactive for 12 years but is back in the headlines again.
After making a remarkable transformation with coach Diamond Dallas Page, he now believes he is ready to make a full comeback.
Paul so far has yet to publicly accept the call-out and has been focused on getting his career taken seriously.
GettyEsch has lost 200lbs and is ready to roll back the years[/caption]He has instead given preference to the likes of Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis, two fights in which Paul can make huge commercial deals.
An unlikely solution could be Paul fighting for a world title with talks already underway for him to face WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack.
He said: “Absolutely [he will fight again this year]. November or December.
“I’m seeing him tonight for dinner, and we will have a conversation [about his next opponent].
“The only possibility right now is that Jake wants to fight for a belt as soon as possible.
“I have to talk to him, I think it’s tough this year [to box for a world title].
“Badou Jack is who he wants to fight more than anyone, and he has a mandatory rematch with the guy he just beat [Noel Mikaelian] for the WBC.
“I don’t know if this year is possible [for the title fight], but we’ll see.”
