Former England National Cricket Team captain Nasser Hussain and the BCCI have provided a fresh update on the injury suffered by the India National Cricket Team Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant on Thursday, July 10.
Superstar India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant picked up the injury in the third Test match of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team at Lord's in London.
On the first day of the Lord's Test, the Shubman Gill-led India were handed a colossal blow as Rishabh Pant was forced to leave the field with an injury.
Pant sustained an injury on his fingers during the 34th over, which was bowled by the pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. On the first ball, Bumrah bowled a full-length delivery to Ollie Pope angling down leg-side, and the England batter looked to flick it away but missed completely.
The ball went towards Rishabh Pant, who dived across, but could only get a bit of mitt on the ball as England picked up two byes. As the ball hit him on the fingertips and left him injured, the physio instantly came in the middle to give some treatment.
Pant somehow managed to stay in the middle for the remainder of the over, but in the next over, Dhruv Jurel was called in as the substitute wicketkeeper.
