There are two big names in tablets right now: Apple and Samsung. Both companies make a wide variety of large touchscreen smart devices, but here's a secret: Unless you're an artist or graphic designer, you can probably get away with the cheapest option possible. Enter the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, which will give you the full Android experience starting for just $132.99 this Prime Day.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Tablet $132.99 $219.99 Save $87.00 Get Deal Get Deal $132.99 $219.99 Save $87.00I like having a tablet around, but if you're anything like me, you pretty much only ever use yours for reading or watching stuff, and even then, mostly just when you're on a trip. Sure, bigger screens and fancy materials like OLED are nice, but really, you don't need the best specs for that kind of casual use.
That's why I like Samsung's Galaxy Tab A9+. Currently the company's cheapest tablet option, this device is the epitome of "good enough," and I'm here for it. For your meager investment, you'll get an 11-inch FHD+ LCD screen (with a snappy 90Hz refresh rate), four stereo speakers, a full Android install with modern perks like facial recognition, and depending on your configuration, either 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage, or 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. That's pretty good for the cost of essentially one fancy date (at least where I live).
The processor's not bad, too. It's the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which is a few years old, and while not groundbreaking, shouldn't suffer from slowdowns while browsing. Qualcomm's a reliable brand in this space, and this budget CPU should even be able to handle most games, assuming you run them at low settings.
There's no fancy cameras or next-gen screen specs here, but for what I use a tablet to do, this is plenty. If you're a fellow tablet casual, consider picking up a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ this Prime Day.
