DAVIDSON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A crash involving several vehicles is causing heavy delays near Davidson, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
The incident was reported just before noon on Wednesday, July 9, on Interstate 77 southbound near mile marker 29. This is on a bridge between Griffith Street and Catawba Avenue.
Both southbound lanes are closed, and traffic is being diverted into the toll lane. Authorities have not said what led up to the crash.
The Mecklenburg EMS Agency says its crews are evaluating 12 people with minor injuries. Currently, multiple ambulances and MEDIC's Mass Casualty Bus are headed to the incident.
