A recent viral video of Jasprit Bumrah toiling hard in the nets has surfaced on social media. Amid the intense sessions for India, the world's no. 1 Test bowler has also been seen engaging in some fun-struck banter with fellow cricketers.
India arrived for their first training session at Lord's on Tuesday, and Bumrah looked playful from the very first day, seemingly enjoying his time out at Lord's. Having noted Nitish Kumar Reddy bowling a good outswinger with sheer pace, Bumrah immediately quipped, "Good one, Brett Lee."
This was followed by the most hilarious chat with Shardul Thakur. Bumrah calls out Shardul as 'Lord' playing at the Lord's. Shardul also touched Bumrah's feet.
Here's how the conversation unfolded:
"Lord, dekho Lord’s, Lord, Lord’s, Lord," Bumrah said in a viral video.
“Tab he Jasprit Bumrah ke pair padne padte hai," Thakur said.
“Ye inka (Thakur) badappan hai. Mai inke sath khada hua, wahi mai jeet gaya," Bumrah added

— BCCI (@BCCI) July 9, 2025Despite such lighthearted moments, Jasprit Bumrah's intensity with the ball never seemed to have dipped, as he bowled for an entire session of one hour without taking any breaks.
Though this was just an optional session, many players like KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant were not part of the session. India's Edgbaston pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep were nowhere to be seen.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled to Indian players Abhimanyu Easwaran, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel, and Karun Nair, as he troubled them in the nets with his beamers.
Jasprit Bumrah's Lord's heroics back in the 2021 glory
On his first-ever tour to England back in 2021 under Virat Kohli's captaincy, Jasprit Bumrah had already played a monumental role in the team's success. Though he was dismissed for a duck and even went wicketless in the first innings, the second innings saw Jasprit Bumrah rise to his standards.
He began with the bat, as he built an 89-run partnership alongside Mohammed Shami for the 9th wicket and remained not out, having scored 35* with Shami hitting one of his few test half-centuries.
He next paired alongside Mohammed Siraj to run a rampage through the England innings, as he picked three crucial wickets that included England skipper Joe Root. Mohammed Siraj picked 8 wickets in the game, as India won the game by 151 runs.
Harry Brook becomes World No.1
England veteran Joe Root, who was the no. 1-ranked Test batter when England entered Edgbaston, slipped to the second position after teammate Harry Brook, previously second, surpassed him with a historic knock of 158 in the first innings.
Shubman Gill, with his historic knocks of 269 and 161, has climbed a massive 15 places to be placed as the no. 6 ranked test batter, achieving a career-high rating of 807. Only Kane Williamson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Steve Smith lie between the two Englishmen and Shubman Gill at no. 6.
English wicket-keeper Jamie Smith's iconic innings of 184* to rescue England from 84/5 and then 88 in the second innings has also borne fruit, as he is now ranked No. 10 in the list of ICC Test rankings for batsmen.
