ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re dodging any oppressive heat and humidity again today, but it will return for this weekend. Clouds are arriving from the southwest and will dominate the day, and some showers move in later this afternoon and evening. Timing is for the late afternoon, possibly starting around 5pm and lasting a few hours. No heavy downpours, no flood threat, and no severe weather expected so we’re Green on the Threat Tracker. Temps today peak in the low 80s, but dew points will stay in the low/mid 60s which will make the air tolerably comfortable.
We’re tracking some thundershowers tomorrow afternoon but it’s really looking like they won’t do much. Check back in later today for another update, but know that we’re Green on the Threat Tracker for Thursday.
Friday looks pleasant, a little warm in the mid 80s but dry air will make things comfortable alongside mostly sunny skies. Dew points will rise to tropical status this weekend, and alongside hot air it will cause heat index values to get well into the 90s. Sunday is the worse day, with thunderstorms expected. It’s too early to call whether they will be severe or not, so be sure to check back in the next few days.
