The 41-year-old Mexican singer and songwriter revealed on social media that she’s pregnant with her first child. In the heartfelt announcement, Lafourcade shared photos of her growing baby bump.
“Five months and still on tour, five months and still growing. There is a beautiful being inside my body, and I truly didn’t see this coming,” she wrote on Monday, July 7.
“What a gift from life, all while I sing and sing and keep singing for you, my beautiful people. See you very soon in Spain. In the meantime, we’ll keep growing,” she added.

Lafourcade is expecting her first child with her partner, Mexican-Venezuelan filmmaker Juan Pablo López-Fonseca. The couple has maintained a relatively private relationship, though they’ve collaborated on several creative projects.
They seemingly tied the knot in 2021, but it wasn’t until two years later that Lafourcade opened up publicly about their marriage.
"This afternoon I'm happy. Finally, after two years of being married, I'm going on my honeymoon. How wonderful,” she said on YouTube in 2023. “I want to share with you that we're getting ready for the next concerts and that I'm really excited about what's coming up.”
The delayed honeymoon likely came as Lafourcade continued to rise in the music world. Over the years, she’s become a four-time Grammy and 18-time Latin Grammy winner.
Most recently, she earned a spot on Billboard’s "50 Best Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time," further cementing her legacy.
Though she’s well into her pregnancy, Lafourcade isn’t slowing down just yet. She’s set to continue touring through Europe in July and August before returning to Mexico for two shows at the Auditorio Nacional on September 9 and 11.
