Wales team bus involved in crash at Women’s Euro 2025 ...Middle East

Wales Women cancelled training on Tuesday after the team bus was involved in a collision near their hotel.

The Welsh FA have confirmed no one was injured but players were distressed and shaken by the incident. An ambulance arrived on the scene and those in the other vehicle were also unharmed.

The team are playing at their first ever major tournament at Euro 2025 and play France on Wednesday, needing to avoid defeat to remain in contention for the knockouts. They lost their opening match to the Netherlands 3-0.

In a statement, the FAW said: “The Football Association of Wales can confirm that the Cymru national team bus has been involved in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to Arena St Gallen for their matchday-1 training session ahead of Wednesday’s Uefa Women’s Euro 2025 match against France.

“All passengers on the Cymru national team bus and in the other vehicle are unharmed. The FAW’s priority has been to remove the players from the scene and return to the Cymru training base to complete their prearations for tomorrow’s match.”

Manager Rhian Wilkinson and captain Angharad James were in another vehicle at the time.

“I think everyone, from all reports, is OK and we just need to get them all together and get everyone away from the scene to reassess,” Wilkinson said.

“It’s not about overreacting.

“We just want the players together and the right people around them to make decisions. What does prep look like for the game? I will see how everyone is first then we will make decisions.”
