No new Epstein documents to be released – DOJ

Officials have concluded there is no evidence to investigate others and claim no “client list” exists

No further documents related to the sex trafficking case of late financier and registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein will be made public, the US Department of Justice announced in a memo on Sunday. It has concluded its review of all related investigative material and claims there is no “client list” of patrons.

Epstein was arrested in 2019 and charged with trafficking minors for sex. However, he ostensibly hung himself in his New York jail cell before he could stand trial. His longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was later convicted of conspiring to sexually abuse underage girls and is serving a 20-year sentence.

Although Epstein’s death has officially been ruled a suicide, it has long fueled public skepticism. Many contend that since he trafficked minors to powerful individuals, a list of their names exists and should be released to the public.

For months, US Attorney General Pam Bondi had promised that the Trump administration would disclose the full case files. In a February Fox News interview, she claimed a client list was “sitting on [her] desk.” She later said the FBI had turned over a “truckload” of sealed material and accused past administrations of hiding evidence.

However, the new memo from the DOJ and FBI states that no such list exists. “This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list,’” it reads. It also states that no credible evidence was found of blackmail and that there is no basis to investigate uncharged third parties.

The DOJ also released over 10 hours of surveillance footage from the Special Housing Unit where Epstein was held, claiming it shows no one entered the tier leading to his cell on the night of his death. The footage, however, only shows a partial view of a stairwell, rather than the cell itself.

The White House has defended the handling of the case. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the unreleased material contains child pornography and cannot be made public. “The Trump administration is committed to truth and to transparency,” she said.

The memo has triggered a backlash among conservative commentators and Trump supporters. Liz Wheeler posted, “It’s time to fire Pam Bondi.” Alex Jones wrote that “next the DOJ will say ‘Actually, Jeffrey Epstein never even existed,’” calling it “over the top sickening.”

Elon Musk responded by posting an image labeled “The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,” set at zero. The image reflects frustration among critics who question how Epstein and Maxwell could be charged with trafficking minors when no one else has been implicated.

Epstein was known to associate with figures including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, and Les Wexner. While some links have been documented through flight logs or photos, none of these individuals have been formally accused of wrongdoing.
