Amazon Prime Day is finally here and if you've read the runes you'll have probably predicted that the Kindle would be on sale.

As the e-reader is now owned by Amazon itself, the various Kindles often see huge price cuts during Prime Day and other sales periods – this year is no different.

The standard Kindle is currently at its lowest price so far this year, now costing £74.99 instead of the usual £94.99.

The Kindle Colorsoft – Amazon's fancy new colour e-reader – has also been reduced alongside older models like the Kindle Paperwhite, and even the tablet e-reader Kindle Scribe.

Short answer: Yes. There are four Kindle models currently on sale for Amazon Prime Day: the standard Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe, as well as their corresponding kids versions.

The cheapest model on sale right now is the standard Kindle for £74.99, however the biggest saving is on the Colorsoft which now costs £184.99, down from £269.99.
