The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) anticipates very hot and humid weather to continue across most parts of the country during the day on Tuesday, coinciding with the first day of the month of Epip in the Coptic calendar.
Epip lasts between July 8 and August 6, and is known for its high temperatures.
Hot and humid weather is also expected on the northern coasts, where the humidity will be highest.
The weather will be moderately hot at night and in the early morning.
The EMA advised people to avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during the afternoon. When going out, it cautioned that citizens should wear a head covering to protect themselves from the sun’s rays and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
Tuesday’s weather is expected to disrupt maritime navigation in the Gulf of Suez, the Red Sea coast, and the Gulf of Aqaba. Waves will reach three meters high and wind speeds will reach 60 km/h.
The EMA warned citizens to stay away from areas with high waves.
