Michael B. Jordan announced an exciting update for his next project on his Instagram.
The Black Panther actor is set to take on double duty as star and director in the highly anticipated remake of the classic 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair. The story follows a wealthy mastermind who pulls off a daring art theft, sparking a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. There is also a 1999 remake of the film with the same name, which starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
On Monday afternoon, Jordan went to Instagram to post black and white photos of the updated cast of his movie, which includes himself, Kenneth Branagh (Death on the Nile), Taylor Russell (Bones and All), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Danai Gurira (Black Panther, All Eyes on Me), Pilou Asbæk (Salem's Lot,Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) and Aiysha Hart (Salvable, Mona).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drew Pearce wrote the script for the new movie after Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson penned a previous draft. Patrick McCormick and Mac Toberoff will be credited as producers, while Alan Trustman, the writer of the original film, will serve as an executive producer.
The 2027 remake will be produced by Outlier Society, Jordan's production company that was launched in 2016. Outlier Society has already produced multiple films and TV shows, including Creed III (2023) and Without Remorse (2021). The upcoming TV shows Fourth Wing and The Greatest are currently in production.
Fans can expect The Thomas Crown Affair to come out in theaters on March 5, 2027.
