A legendary tennis player made a rare public appearance at the 2025 Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament over the weekend.
Billie Jean King, 81, who was once the No. 1 women's tennis player in the world, made a rare public appearance at Wimbledon over the weekend to cheer on this year's field.

King won at Wimbledon for three years straight from 1966 to 1968, then went on to claim the title three more times in 1972, 1973 and 1975. In that same era, she won the Australian Open once (1968), the French Open once (1972) and the U.S. Open four times (1967, 1971, 1972 and 1974).
She was also a prolific doubles player, winning Wimbledon women's doubles 10 times and mixed doubles four times. In fact, in addition to having a career Grand Slam in singles, she also had a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles and almost a career Grand Slam in women's doubles. The only tournament she never won in women's doubles was the Australian Open.

1967 was a banner year for King — she won Wimbledon's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles titles, the U.S. Open singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles, and mixed doubles at the French Open.
In 2025, as you can see in the above photos, King was avidly cheering (or perhaps yelling at a line judge) during Wimbledon this year. She was there with her wife of 7 years, Ilana Kloss, who is also a former tennis pro. Kloss played for South Africa and took home a U.S. Open and a French Open title in doubles and mixed doubles, respectively, in 1976.
