A suburban man has been arrested on felony charges after he allegedly fired a weapon at an acquaintance who was wearing a bulletproof vest.
According to authorities, police were informed of the incident over the weekend. That incident allegedly occurred on Friday night at a residence in the 1000 block of North Division.
It is alleged that the suspect in the case had fired a weapon at an acquaintance, who was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Police interviewed several witnesses about the incident and obtained a search warrant, which was executed on Saturday afternoon.
During the search, police located two firearms, one of which had a defaced serial number. They also found a bulletproof vest, which had been hit with a projectile, officials say.
With the evidence and eyewitness testimony, police arrested 51-year-old Ronald Tvrz. He has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, all of which are felonies under Illinois law.
