Harlem Eubank has slammed close to everything about his controversial defeat to Jack Catterall in Manchester.
Eubank, cousin of Chris Eubank Jr, was looking to pick up a huge victory in the biggest step up of his career against former world champion Catterall.
And the fight began as an intriguing encounter, but a horror head clash left both fighters with nasty cuts.
The contest was then waved off by the referee in the seventh period, but it was Eubank’s corner doctor who decided to stop the clash.
As a result, the scorecards dictated the result and Catterall was declared the victor.
It was a moment of huge controversy and Eubank was left furious in the dressing room just moments after the event.
He furiously suggested: “This is the go along to get along gang.
“You see it in the commentary and dressing room, all pretending to be friends with Conor coming in.
“I said to Conor to come in and watch a display, but the referee took it out of my hands from winning in spectacular fashion.
“Jack’s a world class operator but all the fighters ringside had the fight even and I was just warming up.
“I’ve not experienced something like that before, I feel like I’ve been done dirty this evening.
“I was carrying out my game plan perfectly, to make him miss and pay late. I take out opposition late, that is exactly how I do it.
Eubank and Catterall both suffered horror cutsGETTY“But the referee took it out of my hands tonight in not letting Jack Catterall continue.”
Eubank has now been left with a first defeat on his professional record.
And he could now look to appeal or lodge a complaint having been left furious with the outcome.
An immediate rematch could be on the cards, given the pair were not separated by an entire fight distance.
But Catterall’s mind appears to be elsewhere as he targets the big fights beyond Eubank.
“Respect to Harlem, but I was breaking him down,” he said.
It is unclear if Catterall will rematch Eubank and could move onMark Robinson / Matchroom“It’s frustrating I couldn’t go through the gears. It’s a head clash and I just have to move on.
“The referee made the decision, it’s out of my control. He was slippery and tricky but I felt I was catching him with the cleaner shots.
“I am back in the win column now, after back-to-back defeats, so I now can get back in the big fights.”
