(KRON) – Two dogs have died and a person was sent to the hospital on the Fourth of July after the use of illegal fireworks, according to the Oakland Fire Department.
The fireworks sparked flames at a two-story residential duplex in the 1600 block of 78th Avenue.
Per Oakland Fire, 30 firefighters assisted with the fire. The flames were under control at 11:14 p.m.
Two dogs died as a result of the fire, said OFD. One person was taken to the hospital, said the fire department.
