Incarcerated Tiger King Joe Exotic has been calling out President Trump on his social media accounts.
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, or Joe Exotic as he is known professionally, is currently serving his 21-year federal sentence for his 2019 conviction on two counts of murder-for-hire against his former Tiger King rival Carole Baskin as well as eight counts of falsifying wildlife records and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act. He is 62.
Exotic is incarcerated at Federal Medical Center Fort Worth, where he met and married his current, and 6th, husband, Jorge Marquez, 33, who was convicted of immigration crimes. Marquez was deported back to Mexico a few weeks after they married in April of this year, after getting engaged in October 2024.
Since being convicted, Exotic has been pleading with President Trump for a pardon, and those pleas have increased since his husband was deported and Trump pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley on May 27, 2025.

On July 4, Exotic posted 8 pleas for a pardon to Trump on his Instagram account and 8 on his X account.
One recent post on his Instagram was an edited photo of himself with a tiger cub on a blue background with part of the American flag visible and "Free Joe Exotic A Wrongfully Imprisoned American" printed on it. The caption on the post reads, "President @realdonaldtrump - all real Americans agree that Joe Exotic deserves a second chance to break free from a cruel system so he can live his final years as a free man able to do good in the world. This Independence Day, let justice roar. Mr. President, PLEASE sign the pardon."

Another, on his X account, had an image of Trump with the words, "In Trump I Trust" in gold lettering. The accompanying caption reads, "I refuse to give up that @realDonaldTrump will make this wrongful conviction right.
