Ravichandran Ashwin, the captain of the Dindigul Dragons, pulled out a stunning runout as he held onto the ball with one hand before running the opening batsman out.
It happened during Qualifier 2 between the Chepauk Super Gillies and the Dindigul Dragons, as the Dragons defeated the table toppers to make it into the finals of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025.
R Ashwin was spotted dismissing the CSG opening batter Mokit Hariharan, who was run out by a sharp throw from Dinesh H that Ashwin collected with only his right hand and then took the bails off to draw the first wicket of the innings.

Currently, he is starring in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 as the skipper of the Dindigul Dragons. He has led them to the final of this edition of the game.
The all-rounder played 32 matches in the tournament, as he batted in 26 innings and went on to score 680 runs in the competition. He averages 28.33 and has a healthy strike rate of 141.3, with 5 half-centuries to his name.
The spin maestro has now promoted himself as the opener for the Dragons; while with the ball, he also has 33 wickets to his name, of which only 3 came this season.
Ravichandran Ashwin is a probable swap option for the Sanju Samson deal
Indian veteran Ravichandran Ashwin has been part of the Indian Premier League ever since its inaugural season back in 2008, when he was picked by the Chennai Super Kings. He has played for 5 different franchises in the IPL: CSK, Rising Pune Supergiant, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, and the Rajasthan Royals.
Ravichandran Ashwin went on to pick 187 wickets in the IPL, while he also has 833 runs, with batting chances handed to him in recent times.
Considering reports that stated CSK are currently going after Sanju Samson as the ideal player to replace legend MS Dhoni in the role of a wicket-keeper batsman, similar reports have also claimed that Rajasthan Royals would likely demand either Ravindra Jadeja or Ravichandran Ashwin for the swap with Sanju Samson.
However, all such claims are speculative as of now, as nothing has been mentioned by any official sources.
Dindigul Dragons defeated the table toppers to qualify for the final on Sunday
The table toppers, Chepauk Super Gillies, took on the Dindigul Dragons in the semi-final match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League. After a slow start, the Chepauk middle-order batters Narayan Jagadeesan and Baba Aparajith, the skipper, put on a 100+ run stand to claim a total of 178/7 in their innings.
Skipper Ashwin and Shivam Singh gave them a firm start, while Baba Indrajith and later Vimal Khumar gave the jolt to the innings, as they chased 179 runs with 8 balls remaining. Dindigul Dragons won the match by 4 wickets and will now compete in the final against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans.
