There is a Club World Cup quarter-final to look forward to on Friday, as well as two group matches from the Women’s European Championships.

Fluminense and Al Hilal are both surprise quarter-finalists in the United States and one of them will be making their way into the last-four of the summer tournament.

Meanwhile, the Euros focus is on Group C, where Denmark clash with Sweden and Germany take on Poland.

    Bet of the day

Al Hilal to win in 90 minutes @ 6/4

Both Fluminense and Al Hilal go into their quarter-final unbeaten in their opening four games at the Club World Cup and both knocked out European teams in the last-16.

Fluminense saw off Inter Milan 2-0, while Al Hilal won a seven-goal thriller against Manchester City after extra-time.

When looking at the Saudi Pro League outfit’s starting XI last time out, it was a who’s who of players who have graced the top leagues in Europe in recent seasons.

Former Napoli and Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly has formed a strong centre-back partnership with ex-Atletico Madrid man Renan Lodi.

With the likes of Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic pulling the strings going forward, Al Hilal have the quality required to make the semi-finals.

Their Brazilian opponents have built their campaign around a solid backline, keeping three clean sheets, but their lack of possession so far is a concern.

    Special of the day

    Handicap Sweden -1 @ 29/20

There will be some Scandinavian rivalry in the opening Group C match of the Women’s Euros, with Denmark and Sweden going head-to-head in Lancy.

Sweden will go into the match as favourites, with Peter Gerhardsson’s team currently six places above their opponents in the Fifa world rankings.

The 1984 Women’s Euros champions are unbeaten in their last four games – two wins and two draws, with one of those wins coming against the Danes.

In June’s Nations League meeting, Sweden ran out 6-1 winners and, although it’s not likely to be as comfortable this time, Gerhardsson’s ladies should have more than enough to beat the -1 handicap.

    Long shot of the day

    Germany v Poland – Lea Schuller Hat-Trick @ 9/1

Germany’s preparation for the Euros has been impressive, going into the tournament unbeaten in their last six matches.

The 2022 runners-up have scored 24 goals in their last five games, also conceding just twice during that run.

They now face a Poland side that are unbeaten in their last four games, but are currently 24 places behind the Germans in the world rankings.

Four of those 24 goals for Germany have been scored by Bayern Munich striker Lea Schuller, including a brace in May’s 4-0 win over the Netherlands.

The 27-year-old has an incredible record at international level, with 52 goals in 75 appearances for her country.

Schuller will have one eye on being the tournament’s top goalscorer and she can get off to a quick start against a Poland team who are making their first appearance at the Euros.
