(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Thursday was another hot one, but it was a nice break from the sticky, steamy air!
It stayed mostly dry as well, when it comes to the shower and storm chances. More of the same for Independence Day Friday!

There is a small chance of a spot shower/storm or two south and east of Charlotte for the 4th of July, but most will stay dry through fireworks time. Saturday, too.
Sunday is when it starts to get unsettled again, as moisture works in from the east around an area of low pressure. It's possible that this low could develop into our next tropical system over the weekend or early next week, too.
However, the worst of the conditions look to stay offshore of the Carolina coast. Still, the proximity of the low will swing in some periodically rainy and stormy conditions to the beach this weekend, along with an increased risk of rip currents. Be safe out there.
Daily shower and storm chances return -- along with more humidity -- next week. Highs will likely remain in the low and mid-90s.
Tonight: Fair sky. Low 70.
Independence Day: Sun & clouds. Small shower/storm chance south and east of CLT. High 94.
