Liverpool midfielder Diogo Jota has reportedly died in a car accident in Spain, aged 28.
Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Thursday morning that the Portuguese player, who joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020, was involved in a car accident in Zamora, close to the border with Portugal.
Spanish state-owned TV station TVE also confirmed the news, citing local firefigthers, according to the Reuters news agency.
The i Paper has approached Liverpool for comment and is attempting to discover more on this situation.
Jota married his long-term girlfriend Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children, just two weeks ago.
