BATAVIA, N.Y. – A protest took place on Wednesday outside the regional Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters in Batavia. Several dozen people gathered, holding signs with messages such as “Stop the Kidnapping” and “No Human is Illegal.”
The protest marked the end of a 78-mile walk from Seneca Falls by Rev. Leah Ntuala. Ntuala aimed to inspire more action from her peers.
“The calling, the letter writing, the protest are all important and should not stop at all,” Ntuala said.
Ntuala emphasized the need for increased dissent and awareness.
“We need to be encouraging even, even more sort of dissent, to call out, to make people realize like, this is this is not a normal time,” she said.
Ntuala’s walk took four days to complete.
