The Arizona Wildcats officially added another recruit to the 2025-26 roster, Ivan Kharchenkov.
While Kharchenkov committed with the Wildcats in June, he made it official Tuesday, telling ESPN that he will be leaving his current team, FC Bayern Munich.

Bayern also made it official Tuesday on its news page, acknowledging he won’t return next season.
“On Monday, he said goodbye to everyone at the office — because a new adventure is about to begin: FCBB youngster Ivan Kharchenkov will not be playing for Bayern Basketball next season,” the organization said.
Kharchenkov thanked the club and fans by acknowledging it was a difficult decision.
“It was a very difficult decision for me to leave my home, because this is where I grew up,” Kharchenkov said.
“I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way — starting with the coaches, the assistants, individual and athletic trainers, and of course the physios and doctors. I also want to thank everyone in the office and on the campus. And last but not least, my teammates and especially the fans — you’ve all become family to me. That’s why I know I’ll always be able to come back here.”
Kharchenkov, 18, was part of the back-to-back championship teams in 2024 and 2025, making his final mark before heading to the United States. He also led the team in scoring (22.5 PPG) in the 2023-24 season.
At 6-foot-6 and 227 pounds, the European shot 47% from the field and 23.9% from 3 this past season, according to RealGM.
Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd is no stranger to grabbing international recruits. Kharchenkov will be the sixth international player on the current Wildcats roster.
Kharchenkov is also the sixth commit to join a pool of highly talented freshmen coming to Arizona that is ranked No. 3 in the country by 247 Sports. He joins: Brayden Burries, Koa Peat, Dwayne Aristode, Bryce James, Sidi Gueye and Mabil Mawut.
Arizona starts its season in Las Vegas on Nov. 3 against the defending champion Florida Gators.
