The head of Egypt’s National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research (NIAGR), Taha Rabeh, has criticized warnings from a marine captain regarding unusual changes in the Mediterranean Sea.
In press statements on Tuesday, Rabeh asserted that the captain’s claims are “Completely false, exaggerated, and lack any scientific basis.”
“No tsunami or earthquakes will occur because of waves,” the head of the Egyptian NIAGR confirmed, emphasizing that high waves are a natural phenomenon.
The claims originated from a marine captain named “Nour”, who in a TikTok video that alleged that, “Something wrong is happening in the sea, and it’s not the right time for it.”
He described the wave movements as “unexplained,” their frequencies “strange,” and their source as “unknown.”
Captain Nour insisted these were “not natural changes; they are 100 percent man-made.”
He further claimed that the upcoming period might witness exceptional events such as an earthquake or an underwater volcano, or even dangerous naval experiments that could be behind this unusual activity.
“My expectation is that something big is being prepared for,” Captain Nour added. “There’s something hidden or being tested underwater.”
