Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, shared a rare photo of the late royal in honor of what would have been her 63rd birthday. The never-before-seen image offers an intimate glimpse into Diana’s life before the world knew her as the People’s Princess. This emotional tribute quickly captured the attention of royal fans who continue to cherish Diana's memory.
The 9th Earl Spencer shared a vintage photo on his Instagram page. It showed the late Princess of Wales celebrating her sixth birthday.
"Another July 1st, from long ago - 1967, in fact: for Diana’s 6th birthday party. My father [John Spencer, the 8th Earl] (standing, left) - to huge excitement - secured the services of Bert the Camel, from Peterborough Zoo," he wrote.
In the black and white photograph, Diana and Charles were seated atop the animal. Other children stood atop a deck, awaiting their turn.

Royal fans thanked the earl for sharing this intimate family photo. One wrote, "Fantastic picture! Thank you for sharing, and I’m thinking about you and your family today, Earl Spencer."
A second penned, "I remember your beautiful sister every year on this day. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Diana." "What a great picture. Lots of happy memories for you," a third noted.
In May 2025, Charles Spencer appeared on ITV's Loose Men, where he opened up about the profound grief of losing his sister. Reflecting on their shared childhood, he described her absence as feeling like an "amputation."
"You grow up with these people. They are your flesh and blood, they’re with you forever, and then they’re gone," he explained.
He added, "For years after Diana died, I would think, 'I must ring her and tell her something," because we shared the same sense of humor. You just realize, of course, that’s not going to happen."
Spencer, 61, and the Princess of Wales are two of four siblings in their family. There are also two older sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, 70, and Lady Jane Fellowes, 68 born to John Spencer and Frances Shand Kidd.
