The All-Star Futures Game roster was revealed Monday morning and includes two Arizona Diamondbacks minor league players, outfielder Slade Caldwell and third baseman LuJames Groover.
The young prospects will be making their first All-Star Futures Game appearances.
Caldwell, the D-backs’ second-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, has hit .267 along with 22 RBIs and three home runs with the Hillsboro Hops this season.
The 19-year-old comes from Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and was selected 29th overall in the 2024 June MLB Amateur Draft. Caldwell won Gatorade’s Arkansas High School Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, including capturing a 5-A state title as a senior.
