Andrew Garfield Meets Fan Behind Wild NSFW Post From Years Ago

Celebs get thirsty DMs all the time. Some are sweet, some are spicy, and some resurface years later in the most awkward way possible. Just ask Andrew Garfield.

On Thursday, June 26, the 41-year-old Spider-Man icon was doing a post-screening Q&A for his new romantic drama We Live in Time at the Pilton Palais Cinema during Glastonbury. The audience was packed with excited fans, but one in particular caught Garfield’s eye — the brain behind a viral NSFW post about him that first went viral years ago.

“I can’t look you in the eye,” the award-winning actor admitted. Then, after getting her “informed consent,” he explained the unexpected reunion to the rest of the crowd.

“I had to read a bunch of tweets, like about me being kind of sexually objectified online, basically,” Garfield said. “And one of them, which got me big, was, ‘I want Andrew Garfield to smash a laptop on my tits.’ And that is in the room with us tonight.”

Visibly amused, the Hacksaw Ridge star added, “Honestly, one of the more creative sex acts I can imagine. I haven’t imagined participating in that. I’m not. I refuse. But happy to meet you and you’re very creative… and sick. You’re sick.”

Shortly after, a video of the moment went viral on Reddit, sparking a wave of reactions.

“This is hilarious,” one person wrote.

"You can [tell] that this tweet crosses his mind every once in a while," another quipped.

"I would also like Andrew Garfield to smash a laptop on my face," joked a third.

The original post was from a 2021 BuzzFeed “Thirst Tweets” video, where Garfield read a string of NSFW fan comments. He took most of them in stride (“Andrew Garfield is literally the daddy of all daddies”), but the laptop one clearly stuck.

“I’m not gonna do that,” he said at the time. “I draw the line. Nope. This is a pro tip, and also like, boundaries, if anyone says, ‘I wanna smash a laptop on your breasts,’ just say, ‘Get out of my house.’”

Garfield’s no stranger to outrageous fan posts, but he’s not the only one who’s had to read them out loud. Celebrities from Miranda Lambert to Demi Lovato have taken part in Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segment, where stars read brutally honest — and often wildly inappropriate — comments about themselves on camera. Even former president Barack Obama has gotten in on the fun, proving no one is safe from a good internet roast.
