The 33-year-old India National Cricket Team batsman Karun Nair has been issued a colossal 'last chance' warning by Varun Aaron ahead of the second Test against the England National Cricket Team.
On the other hand, Varun Aaron has showered rich praise on KL Rahul for finding a perfect method to succeed in England and backed him to continue his good form throughout the series.
India lost the Test series opener against England by 5 wickets at Headingley in Leeds, and in that match, Karun Nair made his comeback to international cricket after 8-plus years.
Expectations were sky-high from the batter, and many hoped that the batter would do well in his comeback game, especially considering the bowling unit of England wasn't threatening.
However, Karun Nair failed miserably while batting at the No.6 position. He was dismissed by Ben Stokes for a 4-ball duck in the first innings, and in the second innings, Chris Woakes cleaned him up for 20 runs.
Although Nair was unable to perform well, his former Karnataka teammate KL Rahul showcased his true class in the match. In the first innings, Rahul looked in solid touch while opening the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal and scored a crucial 42 runs.
The right-hander significantly improved his performance in the second innings and smashed a spectacular century. He registered a magnificent 137 runs off 247 balls, with 18 boundaries.

Speaking on the Star Sports show 'Game Plan,' Varun Aaron picked Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul as India's three most important batters for the Edgbaston Test.
He further talked about Karun Nair, saying that the batter would be under pressure after his flop show with the bat in the comeback match and second Test against England might be his final chance to seal a place in the playing XI.
"Obviously, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul will be there because they scored centuries in the first Test. However, in my opinion, Karun Nair will be a very important batter at Edgbaston because he has scored runs there in county cricket," Varun Aaron said.
"So he will take that confidence to Edgbaston. In my opinion, it's a very important game for Karun. He didn't score runs in the first match. Karun will definitely be under pressure because he has regained his place after eight years. Maybe this could be the last chance," the former India pacer added.
KL Rahul has found a good method - Varun Aaron
Varun Aaron further said that the role of an opening batsman is very important in the series in England, and KL Rahul has cracked the code to succeed. He elaborated:
"The opener's role is very important because if an opener gives you a good base, you can score runs from there. KL Rahul has found a good method. He keeps his back foot in front of the off-stump. Due to that, his head is on top of the off-stump. Then, when the bowler bowls outside your right eye line, you know the ball won't hit the stumps
"KL Rahul has one more excellent method. He leaves the back-of-length balls very well. Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal got out to back-of-length balls in the second innings. They could have left those balls. Leaving balls on length is very difficult, which KL Rahul is doing, and I feel he will do that in Birmingham and the entire series."
