A female pedestrian was in critical condition Saturday morning after an auto collision near San Jose’s airport.
The collision happened at 6:32 a.m. at the intersection of West Taylor St. and Spring St., close to Guadalupe River Park and the San Jose Mineta International Airport. The roads were shut down in both directions from state Highway 87 to Coleman Ave. before reopening again around 9:15 a.m.
The collision sent the pedestrian to the hospital and her status was unknown as of Saturday evening.
“The last update we received was the adult female pedestrian remains in critical condition,” a media representative from the San Jose Police Department emailed Saturday night.
“The driver of the vehicle — all I have is (it was a) sedan at this time — stopped, called 911 and cooperated with the investigation.”
Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the collision, police added.
