Westbound traffic lanes on state Route 94 was shut down early Saturday after a driver spun out, then was rear-ended.
The California Highway Patrol responded to SR-94 at 25th Street just before 5 a.m., according to OnScene.TV.
The driver who spun out said his hatchback was clipped by a truck with a camper shell, which had sped past him and cut him off while trying to make the exit. That motorist, the driver told authorities, kept on going.
A male driver in another sedan then rear-ended the victim of the initial collision. Both vehicles were stalled in traffic, prompting the CHP to close the westbound lanes.
The first victim was not injured, but the second driver, an elderly male, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic lanes remained closed for approximately 30 minutes. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department also responded to the scene.
