Report: Bulls trade Lonzo Ball to division rival in two-player trade

Just after the conclusion of the 2025 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls are staying busy in building their team for the upcoming season, collaborating with a division rival on a trade of one of the team’s veterans, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Per the report, the Bulls are dealing guard Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Isaac Okoro, a 24-year-old wing with five years of NBA experience under his belt.

Okoro played 55 games with the Cavaliers last season, who finished with a 64-18 record as the Eastern Conference’s best regular season team.

The 24-year-old averaged just over 19 minutes per game, putting up 6.1 points per game while shooting 37.1% from three-point territory.

Okoro went on to play in all nine playoff games for the Cavaliers last season, averaging 14.2 minutes a contest with 4.6 points per game.

As for Ball, the 27-year-old returned to action last year after missing over two full seasons with knee injuries after a very promising start to the 2021-22 season in Chicago.

In 2024-25, Ball played in 35 games with the Bulls, amassing 14 starts while averaging 7.6/3.4/3.3 points, rebounds and assists per game, respectively. Ball also averaged 1.3 steals per game in his return to action.
