Few bands have eternal life. Whether members pass away or age out of performing, they never last forever. Of course, the studio recordings will always be there, but down the road, fans won't have access to those live performances. This is the case with most bands, except for the band/brand Kiss.
In 2023, Kiss frontman Paul Stanley spoke about a radical new change the band was embarking on in partnership with George Lucas' production company ILM. Kiss is attempting to become a digital band, with concerts being an event where fans will see digital avatars of the band performing instead of the members themselves. This is in hopes of immortalizing the band as their images, instead of the men behind it.
The news has laid dormant since then but has now received some new updates, as recently Stanley spoke on Chris Jericho's podcast about the new life for the band, and the thought process that has gone into it.

"This will be cool, but I honestly wouldn't have been against a new KISS as long as it wasn't a tribute act and they actually made it their own," one fan commented.
Another said, "You know darn well Gene would stick a cardboard cut out of Paul on stage and keep it rocking. Or prop up Paul in a Kiss coffin."
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds. This is an incredibly different direction for the band, and something we really haven't seen before in America. Only time will tell if this is a formula that can really work for them.
