We look ahead to the action at Women’s Euro 2025, analysing the Opta supercomputer’s Group C predictions for Germany, Poland, Denmark and Sweden.
Group C at the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship features eight-time champions Germany, tournament debutants Poland, as well as Denmark and Sweden.
Germany are European Championship royalty and the frontrunners in what should be a competitive group.
Christian Wuck’s side have dominated this competition across its history. They have the best win rate (78%) of any team, reached the most finals (9) and won the most titles (8), including a historic run of six consecutive trophies between 1995 and 2013.
As you’d expect for a team that dominant, their record in the group stage is impeccable. Germany have lost just one of the 21 group-stage matches they’ve played at the Women’s Euros (W16 D4 L1), with that defeat coming at the hands of Norway in 2013. Across those 21 group games, they’ve scored 48 goals and conceded just five. They’ve never shipped more than one goal in any game.
Unsurprisingly, then, the Opta supercomputer gives them the best chance of finishing first in Group C (48.4%), as well as making them strong favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals (77.0%).
In the overall tournament projections, Germany are the fourth favourites to lift the trophy and have a 26.3% chance of reaching the final – a stage they made in the previous edition before losing 2-1 to England after extra-time.

Women’s Euro 2025Who Will Win UEFA Women’s Euro 2025? The Opta Supercomputer Predictions
6 hours ago Chloe HorswillSweden and Denmark will likely battle it out for a place in the knockouts behind Germany. The Swedes are given a 59.1% chance of progression by the Opta supercomputer and have a really good track record of going deep in this competition.
Alongside England, Sweden are one of just two European nations to have reached the semi-finals at each of the last three major tournaments. They have a 25.3% chance of extending that run in 2025.
Despite their recent consistency, Sweden’s qualification path to Euro 2025 wasn’t the smoothest. They finished third in Group A3 during qualifying and had to book their place via the play-offs.
Denmark are expected to challenge Sweden for the second qualification spot. Their chance of advancing from the group stands at 49.6%, slightly behind their Scandinavian rivals.
The Danes face a tricky opener against Sweden, who thrashed them 6-1 in their most recent meeting in the UEFA Women’s Nations League. Denmark will be desperate to produce a stronger showing this time around.
Once again, they will look to Pernille Harder for inspiration in attack. Since joining Bayern Munich ahead of the 2023-24 season, only Nicole Anyomi (25) has scored more goals in the Women’s Bundesliga than Harder (23). She also scored Denmark’s only goal at UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 and remains their key player going forward.
Poland are making their major tournament debut at Euro 2025. They are also managed by the youngest coach in the competition in Nina Patalon (39 years old), making them real underdogs in this group.
History is not on their side either; five of the last six Euros debutants have failed to progress beyond the group stage, with Austria in 2017 the only exception. Poland are very much the outsiders here, given just a 14.3% chance of reaching the last eight.
Their major attacking weapon is their captain, Ewa Pajor. Playing for Barcelona, Pajor recorded the most goal involvements across Europe’s top five leagues last season (35 – 25 goals, 10 assists). They will need something special from her if they are to get out of this tough group.
