The Phoenix Suns traded up to the 31st slot in the NBA Draft to select St. Joe’s forward Rasheer Fleming, ticking another box of positional needs.
The Suns received the No. 31 pick from the Timberwolves for the No. 36 selection and two second-round picks earlier on Thursday.
In three years at St. Joe’s, Fleming gradually improved each season, setting career highs in 2024-25 with averages of 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.
Fleming measured out well at the NBA Draft Combine at 6-foot-8 without shoes and 232 pounds. He was tied for the fourth-widest wingspan in this year’s class at 7-foot-5.25, adding to the potential for Fleming to play as a small-ball center.
The big man scored with efficiency, shooting 53% overall and 39% from 3 while taking a relatively high volume (4.5 attempts per game).
Phoenix added Fleming after maneuvering to add to their pick stash on Thursday.
